Building Women’s Leadership and Advocacy Capacity

The Centre for Inclusive and Accountable Governance (CIAG) continues to invest in women’s leadership and advocacy as a foundation for more inclusive and accountable governance in Somaliland.

Building on earlier dialogues around women’s participation and the role of women in the new government, CIAG’s Leadership and Advocacy Training Workshop provided a dedicated space for women leaders, advocates, and emerging changemakers to strengthen their capacity and confidence to engage in governance and public decision-making.

The workshop focused on developing participants’ leadership and advocacy abilities, encouraging them to articulate their perspectives, engage constructively in public dialogue, and take meaningful roles in shaping decisions that affect their communities.

Beyond individual capacity building, the initiative contributes to CIAG’s broader efforts to create spaces where women can participate, influence, and lead. By strengthening women’s voices and supporting their engagement in governance processes, CIAG seeks to contribute to a more inclusive, representative, and accountable Somaliland.

The training reflects CIAG’s belief that effective leadership extends beyond formal positions and titles. It is grounded in the ability to influence positive change, advocate for communities, and contribute constructively to decision-making. Through continued training, dialogue, and engagement, CIAG remains committed to supporting a new generation of women leaders.
