CIAG facilitated a multi-day strategic planning session bringing together women leaders, potential candidates, and activists to develop a comprehensive roadmap for the 2026 elections.The session focused on:
• Identifying potential women candidates for parliamentary and local council seats
• Developing campaign strategies and messaging
• Building support networks and resource mobilization
• Coordinating advocacy efforts with political parties
• Creating mentorship structures for new candidates
Participants developed detailed action plans with timelines and responsibilities. The session also established working groups to continue coordinating efforts in the lead-up to the elections.
This strategic preparation positions women candidates to run effective campaigns and increases the likelihood of achieving meaningful representation in Somaliland's next parliament and local councils.
