CIAG has launched a comprehensive advocacy campaign aimed at achieving meaningful women's representation in Somaliland's parliament. The campaign, running across all regions, combines grassroots mobilization with high-level policy engagement.Campaign activities include:
• Community dialogues on women's political rights
• Media campaigns highlighting successful women leaders
• Engagement with political parties on candidate selection
• Voter education on the importance of women's representation
• Support for potential women candidates
The campaign draws on CIAG's research showing that women's inclusion in parliament leads to better outcomes in education, health, and social welfare policies. Early responses from communities have been encouraging, with growing recognition of women's leadership capabilities.
CIAG continues to work toward its goal of 20% women's representation in the 2026 parliamentary elections.
